July IS, ILS P-m.) LONDON, July 17. Tlie London wool sales closed quiet. Some 90,989 bales were catalogued, ol which about half were sold. The withdrawals were entirely of inferior quality, both merinpfi and crossbreds, especially the latter, which did not. reach Government reserves. Merinos were in large supply, particularly greasy West Australians, better parcels of which sold well at the June level .of prices, especially for sorts suitable for Continental spinners: Scoureds declined 5 per cent, and carbonising sorts the same. Fine crossbreds met «. wider demand and advanced 10 per cent. Mediums were unchanged. Scoured lambs declined 5 percent. - , . At the Antwerp sales La Plata Jots iver© offered, but met no bids.
