The death is announced at Manntuke of Hapi Kiniha, who was held .in high esteem by Maori and patella alike, xvihiha, who was 84 years of age. was a Maori war veteran, and took a loyal ty5».V» in the local native troubles, and also lii>* held the position of assessor of the Court at Gisborne m the cTays of Commissioner Booth.
A pretty wedding took place at St. Patrick’s Church, Napier, on Wednesday afternoon, -when Miss Katherine Barry, daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Barry, of Hastings Street, Napier, was manned to Mr George Pollock son of Mr G . Pollock, of Gisborne. Ihe ceremony was condxxcted by the Rev. lather Timmins. The . bride was given away by her father, and wore a cream colored costume, with velor hat. She was attended by her sister, Miss M. Barry, as bridesmaid, who fawn costume, with black picture hat. Mr I . Bairy, brother of the bride, was best man. All and Airs Pollock afterwards left by- car for the south, the bride travelling in a blue braided costume, and gold tissue hat."" ■ ■ ___ :
