WELLINGTON. July 17
The matter of wool profits has been advanced a step further by the Premier sending a circular letter to wool brokers throughout the Dominion. The communication, which is dispatched by Mr Massey in his official position as Minister in Charge of the Department of Imperial Government Supplies, reads as follows•
"It is expected that an interim payment. on account of profits arising under the Imperial Government, wool purchaser accounts will shortly bo made to cover the period to March 31, 1919.’ It lias been arranged that the payment shall'be made by the Department of Imperial Government Supplies direct to growers. As a preliminary step I should be pleased if
you would furnish that Department with a statement to show particulars of payment. (a) From November 1, 1916 to October 31, 1917. (b) From November 1. 1917. to October 31, 1918. (c) From November 1. 1918, to October 31, 1919.
I shall be pleased if you would ar-
range that the statement be an agreement with the totals of the purchase
money already balanced with the Department of Imperial Government Supplies and I would further ask that it be certified as correct in the usual manner. I should also be much obliged if you would allow this matter to receive your early attention in order that the information may be available at the earliest possible moment. —Special.
