WEDDINGS.
JON NSON—OXENHAM
A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Miitawhero,' on November 2G, when Miss Gladys Mary Oxenham. third eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred. Oxenham, Makauri, was married to Mr Charles Johnson, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Johnson, Taumarunui. The ltev. liarles Murray conducted the service. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a beautiful frock of cream silk crepe-de-chine trimmed with pearls and true lovers’ knots. The bride also wore a handsome veil and orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of Christmas lilies and white roses, with white tulle streamers. She was attended by Miss Hilda Davis as chief bridesmaid, the latter being attired in a pretty blue mauvo voile dress, with hat to match trimmed with poppies, and also carried a bouquet of pink roses and fern with pink streamers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Sydenham John Oxenliam (brother of the bride), as best man. The bridegroom’s present to the bridesmaid was a cameo brooch. After the. ceremony a number of relatives and friends were entertained by the bride’s parents at their home, where the wedding breakfast was served, the usual toasts being honored. The young couple received many useful presents.
CANNELL—STURGESS. • At the Holy Trinity Church yesterday afternoon' the marriage of Miss Edith Sturgess. of Gisborne, to Mr B. Cannell, of Taurnnga. was solemnised. Miss Sturgess, sister of the bride, fulfilled the duties of bridesmaid, and Mr E. Sturgess officiated as best man. The Itev. 11. Packe conducted the service in the presence of' a number of friends and relatives. After the ceremony at the church a reception was held in the Le Grand Lounge. The happy couple, who carry with them the well wishes of a large circle of friends, proceed to Tauranga, where their future home is to be. SIMPSON —'ROBERTSON. The wedding took place in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church yesterday aternoon of Miss Grace Robertson, third daughter of Mrs G. Robertson, Te Hapara. to Mr Duncan Simpson, second son of Mr J. Simpson, of Auckland. Mr M. Robertson (brother of the bride) was best. man. and Misses Harriette and Jean Robertson (sisters of the bride) were bridesmaids. The Rev. J. Carlisle conducted the ceremony.
