ORIGIN OF THE TANK.
REPORT OF COMMISSION. DE MOLE A VICTIM OF MISFORTUNE.
(Received Dec. 2, 1.10 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 27.. The Tank Commission says that it was the misfortune, not the fault, of the Australian, Corporal De Mole, that his invention was in advance of the times, and consequently was unappreciated and put aside because the occasion for its use had not then arisen. The commission regrets exceedingly that it is unable to recommend the award to Corporal De Mole. —Ans. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
