MISS ADELAIDE BRUCE’S VOCAL RECITAL.
HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE
On Friday evening, Miss Adelaide Bruce, the well-known Australian contralto, will give a grand vocal recital at Hie Majesty s Theatre. The leading artists of Gisborne, music world have volunteered to assist the popular singer who has just completed a very successful tour of the Dominion and intends shortly to return to Australia to accept an important engagement. Miss Bruce, it will *>e remembered, came to New Zealand some years ago under engagement to the Auckland Liedertafel, and made a great impression for her -solo worK in “The Messiah.” Since then she has sung at all the New Zealand centres and h sis received most eulogistic notices in the Press The programme to he contributed on Friday evening will include many 0 f the old Scottish and Irish air, 3 in which Miss Bruce has achieved a'reputation, as well as songs of the more modern school, including sacred numbers and solos from oratorios.
