MANGAPAPA FLOWER SHOW.

ANNUAL FUNCTION OF KNOX CHURCH LADIES’ GUILD. The annual flower show and sale of work under the auspices of the Knox Church Ladies’ Guild, Manga papa, was held at Wyllie’s Hall yesterday. The display of flowers was a most creditable oue ; a feature being some excellent specimens of roses. The show, was opened at 2.30 p.m. by Mrs J. Aitken and soon afterwards the scene was o. busy one, the stall holders doing brisk business. The stalls wer c in charge of the following : —Works—Mesdames McCliskie and Scott: sweets —Misses McCliskie and Steele; Christmas tree — Miss Wright and Bible class girls: produce—Mesdames Stewart and Wood ; flowers and plants—Mesdames Booth and Glover; soft drinks —Miss Lange and Bible class boys; tea rooms—Mesdames Marshall and Grant (2), and- Misses Johnston, Westbrook. Galloway and Scott. During the evening an enjoyable programme was gone through,” the items consisting of pianoforte solos by Miss Kelly and Master Duncan, songs by Mrs W. A. McCliskie and Master V. Foster, recitations bv Mrs C. East, Miss E. Scott and Master V. Foster. The ladies desire to thank the following for flowers for exhibition:— Mesdames C. Gray, H. Kenway. S. Muir, Matthews, Bruce, McCliskie, Pasco and Miss Bull; Messrs J. McKee and Stevenson, and also Mr Alex Thompson for his valuable assistance.
