CLAIMS OF ARAM A TRIBE. ROTORUA. October 17. Tlie. claim of the Arnwa tribe for the. ownership or lakes was opened before Judge Wilson at the Native Land Court. Air Earl appeared for claimants and Air J. E. Brendeville for the Crown. Counsel agreed take the case of Lakes Rotorua and Rotomiti as « test case. Air Earl addressed thc Court claiming that the lands round lake's and the lakes themselves were m the undisputed possession of the natives tm Si years, who. the Goveniment, havin'* bought part of the lands, charged the Natives for fishing licenses Air Earl’s address is expected to continue through to-morrow.
