The latest hospital report indicates that the following are not severe cases:—foec-ond-Lieut. C. N. Devery, Corporal H. AI. Finn, Private E. S. Crawforth (all of Gisborne). Private F. Cornwall (Manutahi), and Private K. Hiti (Tokomaru Bay). Lieut. W. R. Burge, whose name appears amongst the wounded in the latest casualty list, is well known in Gisborne. For about five years before going to the war he occupied the position of foreman printer on the Gisborne Times. This is the second occasion on which Lieut. Burge has been wounded. A casualty list issued vesterday includes the name of Second-Lieuten-ant C.X. Devery (Gisborne) amongst t-liOvSe wounded. Lieutenant Devery was invalided’ home early in the war and returned to the front almost immediately. He is a son of Airs E. Devery, of Gisborne. . Air F. H. Levien. who has been appointed a Stipendiary Magistrate, is thirty-five years of age, and was educated at Xelson College. Canterbury College, and the Auckland I niversity College, where lie gained th.' honors of ALA. and the degree ot L.L.B. He was a member of the firm of Alessrs Levien and Abbott. Auckland, when he enlisted three years ago. After his discharge on medical grounds from the X.Z.E.F., he acted as counsel * for the Defence Department at sittings of the Otago Military Service Board. He was j 1 well-known representative footballer. It- is understood that AlrLevien will be stationed at AVliangarei.
