SERIOUS STRIKE THREATENED
Australian and N.Z Association (Received Julv 24. 9.10 p.m.) LONDON, July 23. . Six thousand tool-makers have commenced a strike at Coventry, though out-voted yesterday on the question of air-immediate strike. Three thousand, men l:-u,vo ceased work at Leicester.

•and Reuters(Received Julv 25, 1 a.m.) LONDON, July 23. Tlie Alinistry of Ahinitions states that 12,000 skilled workers at Coventry have struck. A meeting of Trades Unions resolved that alj amalgamated engineers and skilled hands should not resume until the embargo is removed. The Birmingham committee asked for a fortnight's suspension of the embargo, otherwise they would cease work on Wednesday. The .Minister replied refusing the suspension. Notices have been given in sgme works in Manchester that the men will cease work on July 30 unless tlie embargo is withdrawn. T 1 le Lincoln men threaten to strike on the 24th.
