HIS MAJESTY’S PICTURES

Tlie change of programme at Hi/ Majesty's last night attracted; a huge audience which found excellent entertainment in the bright budget submitted. The big New York drama, “The Regeneration,” is a most powerful and arresting story of the great metropolis and teems with interest, while the main theme of the regeneration of a waster bv a sweet lass’s good influence is skilfully treated and sympathically drawn. A new Fox star Rockscliffe Fellowes, plays the principal role of Owen Conray, leader of a Bowery gang and habituee of a fearsome “dive.” He rescues a pretty little school teacher (Anna Neilson) from insult at the hands of one of his followers and by this chance meeting the good in him is aroused and the big rough gangster becomes as a little child under the tutelage of his angel. The picture is full of exciting episodes, among which is the burning of a picnic barge, with hundreds leaping overboard from the blazing decks. The popular George Walsh is in his element fin a stirring comedy drama “The Mediator,” which gives him opportunities for some remarkable work and is at the same time an engrossing story. Mention should also be made of a bright comedy ‘‘His Bomb Policy,” which had the big house roaring with laughter the whole time it occupied the screenThis bright double programme will be screened again this evening, commencing at 7.45.
