NEW REGULATIONS ISSUED

WELLINGTON. June 25. Regulations are gazetted providing for compulsory national service by enemy aliens and persons of alien enemy parentage. Obviously the Regulations apply chiefly to the Jugo-Slavs in the north. . Persons to whom the Regulations apply may be required to report for employment under the Government on road or railway construction or drainage works or in private employment or farming operations. Payment may be hourly, daily, or at piecework rates, not exceeding the rate current in the locality for Similar work. Medical unfitness certified by medical officers selected for the purpose is ground for exemption from work. . , If an alien disobeys instructions and refuses work or is insubordinate, he is liable under the War, RegulatloThe Commissioner appointed to administer the Regulations is Mr. John Cullen. ,
