THE CORONER’S INQUIRY
VERDICT OF MURDER AGAINST MATHEW.
.‘Press Association Telegram.! - OAMARE, June IS. The Coroner’s inquiry into the death of George Swan Burke, who was murdered at Gemmell’s Crossing, near Oamaru, on the evening of April 14, was held this afternoon before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, SJEn District Coroner. ®
After lengthy evidence had been submitted by the police, the Coroner recorded the following verdict: ‘‘That George Swan Burke was murdered by Onslow Mayhew by means of a bullet discharged from a rifle at Gcmmoll s Crossing on April 14, 1918.
