THE FRANCO-GERMAN CONFERENCE. DELEGATES’ AMUSING ATTITUDE. Australian and N.Z Oable Association (Received May 21. 8 p.m.) LONDON, May. 20. The Daily correspondent states that the exchange of German and French prisoners bogins in a fortnight. . The negotiations, wliich were initiated by the Genera Red Cross, lasted two months and though the delegates understood each other’s language. they declined to speak except in their own language. They never spoke or even bowed outside the conference' hall. The Swiss Red Cross Society acted as go-betweens for the two groups. The diplomatists parted enemies as before the negotiations.
