THE SHIPPING FACTOR
Press Association TelegTamWELLINGTON, May 21. Replying to a question to-day as to the‘shipping factor in relation to reinforcements, Sir Jas. Allen s New Zealand, .would not be able to fulfil completely the Imperial Government’s request for additional reinforcements up to August, beca se the shipping space available was n, little below the need, but the minion’s quota , would be nearly equal to the commitment. The Defence Minister added that he anticipated that after August the rate of reinforcement would be the same as before the present temporary increase of about 800 extra infantrymen per month.
