It _ appears that in making the decision to appoint Dr Craig as" temporary medical superintendent of the hospital the Board also decided that he should not be allowed private practice. Dr Craig was not aware of this condition attaching to his engagement and began liis duties at the institution yesterday morning in the full belief that he was to be allowed to continue to treat his private patients. Naturally he was much surprised later in the day to learn from a newspaper report what had really, transpired at the meeting of the Board. Dr Craig wishes us to state that whilst he is only too anxious to assist the Board in every way. he is in duty bound to attend to his own private patients. It woud be only on that condition _ that .. could continue to place his services at the disposal of the Board-
