PARIS. April 16. The newspapers warmly appreciate the British endorsement of tile wisdom of General Focli’s appointment. General Haig’s direct authority over the British army is not affected. The New .York Times’. ’.Paris correspondent says the question is being asked in many quarter's why General Foch’s control is not extended to, the Italian front. There is a concensus of opinion that Foch’s authority over the Allied armies should he complete.
