Mullingar, one of the Easter Handicap candidates, is keeping sound, giving his trainer no trouble from bleeding, and being kept well up to his work, says an Auckland report. Rose Pink and Mascot have each been jienalised 71b for the Wairarapa Cup. Wardancer will probably require a spell, owing to a recent mishap, which ha's left him very lame. Subterfuge is amiss and she will have to forfeit her engagements at Waimate this week. Ashley Reed will ride Devotion in the Wairarapa Cup. /The mare is reported to be very well. Croesus does not incur a penalty in the Great Easter Handicap for his win at Napier. According to a southern’paper Margerine is looking in the very best of health, and will strip a very fit mare at E-aster time. She is cooked to start in both the big handicaps. Waimatao will have to carry 9.2 in the Wardell Handicap at Wairarapa, owing to his win at Nelson. Chimera will be in receipt of 161 b from the gelding, and the filly is expected to run well. She has been a most consistent place-getter this season. . „ The local resident who received two years suspension from the Gisborne Racing Club, has had another three years added by tho Hawke’s Bay District Committee. A complaint at Napier last Saturday was also based or. suspicion—in this case Suspicious riding —but the jockey was more fortunate than the Gisborne resident, and go,t off with a caution. The sequelae seem a bit out of proportion. Multifual, Multive, Colonnade, Marenga and Orowia are engaged at the Wairarapa meeting this week.
