FIRST MEETING OF MANAGEMENT OOMMITEE.

The first meeting this season of the Management Committee of the P.B. Rugby Union was held last night, tlio following being present: Messrs. A. H. Steele, L. J. Blank, M. MacKinnon, E. Ellery, Wi Friday, E. Eeaton, and J. C. E. Turner (lion, see.). In the absence of the chairman of the committee (Mr. W. Howard), the chair was occupied by Mr. A. H. Steele.

It was decided to write asking the Cricket Association to cover tlio pitches and re-erect the goal-posts on Victoria Domain, tho work to be done beforo Easter. A report was received from tho New Zealand Rugby Union in connection with tho recent conference field in Wellington dealing with the future of football.

The Kaiti-City Juniors wrote asking for permission to play a match against Napier Pirates, on the Victoria Domain on Easter Saturday, March 30.—After discussion it was decided to grant the necessary permission, the gates to be under the control of the Union, the proceeds, less cost of advertising, to bo handed to the Kaiti-City Club. The matter of getting tho Domain m order, cutting grass, etc., was left in the hands of Mr. W. Howard and 1 the secretary, attention to be given to the matter immediately. Mr. J. Rcidy was appointed referee for tho match Kaiti-City v. Napier Pirates.

The date of the annual meeting was fixed for Monday, April 8, club secretaries to be notified to that effect- and club meetings held prior to that elate and delegates appointed. An amount of £lO was passed for payment to the Borough Council on account of rent due. It was notified that the Hawke’s Bay Union would, 1 he sending a representative team to Gisborne during die coming season.
