. The latest hospital report- contains the name of Private E. fl, N. Joblin, of Gisborne as “seriously ill.”
Air D. S. Thompson, accountant at the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand has received notice of his transfer and promotion to AYliakatane branch, where he will occupy the position of manager.
Air G. Witters has-.been nominated as the Hawke’s Bay .Education Board’s representative on the Gisborne High School Board of Governors: He will fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Air J. H. Bull, who lias been appointed secretary.
At the last meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board at Napier, the following resignations were received: Air Kenneth AlcKenzie, head teacher, Motuliora; Miss Vera AlcKay, sole teacher. Pehiri; Miss Amelia Priestley, assistant, Te Arai. A tribute to the long and faithful service of the late Hon. AV. Alorgan, AI.L.C., in the interest of education in Hawke’s Bay, was paid by the members of the Education Board on Friday night at Napier, when the Board carried a motion placing on record' its appreciation of Mr Alorgan’s services. It was also decided to convey to Airs Alorgan and family the Board’s sympathy in their sad loss. The motion was carried in silence, all members standing.
