It made successful raids on several hooked fish, but failed to leach another. It then struck the boat with great force, causing it to heel. ” Turning swiftly and lashing the sea with its tail, it made another dash at the bottom of the boat, but only succeeded in inserting its teeth into one plank, the marks being plainly visible when the boat was beached next day. Fortunately it struck the boat in its strongest part. On Friday an unsuccessful attempt was made to capture the shark.
