THE RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ASSOCIATION. SEQUEL TO RECENT ELECTION. Prsss Association TelesraroWELLINGTON, March 10 A sequel to the Wellington North election was an extraordinary general meeting of the Wellington Returned Soldiers’ Association, held last nightThe following resolution was adopted unanimously: “That this meeting endorses the action of the committee in taking up a neutral attitude in the recent political contest. thus acting according t-o the constitution of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association. Furthermore, this meeting disapproves most emphatically of the action of any political candidate who may be inclined to exploit- either the name of the Returned Soldiers’ Association or returned soldiers for political advantage.” The meeting solidly supported the mover’s argument that if the Association allowed itself to be dragged into the vortex of party politics the organisation would be dismembered.
