SPEEDING UP SHIPPING.
AMERICA CO-OPERATING WITH ALLIES.

Mr. E. N. Hurley, President of the United States Shipping Board, announced that definite steps had been taken by America and the Allies- to co-ordinate the shipping of the United States. A controller has been appointed to co-operate with the London, Paris, and Rome controllers, and to speed U P loadings and embarkations. •
Mr. Hurley also announced that the shipyard activity was almost be•yond belief. Forty-one vessels, aggregating 327.152 tons, would bo ready in January or February. BIG VOTE FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION. Mr. McAdoo asked for 484 million dollars for the construction of additional merchantmen, making a total of 2500 millions.
