LATJRIER POLICY OUTLINED
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. OTTAWA. Nov. 5. Sir - Wilfred Laurier outlined the platform of a Military Service Act to carry out the expression oi the majority’s desire. He favors conscription not only of soldiers, hut of wealth - and resources, which would otherwise he militarily exempt, enabling Canada to continue her splendid part in the war until the end. Other items favored bv him are tariff reform, removing two increases since the beginning of the war, drastic control of food supplies and prices, and the elimination of profiteering. Sir .Wilfrid-Laurier. in an election manifesto, said liis . fundamental objection to the Military Service Act, was that .it- does no. conscript wealtn while 'it does conscript human life. If returned to power lie would do his utmost to mobilise Canadian resources for war purposes.
