MOTOR ASSOCIATION.

COMMITTEE MEETING

At a committee meeting of the Motor Association, the Chdmber of Commerce wrote asking the Association to appoint delegates to attend the conference to he held on July 10 in reference to a district scheme for the construction and maintenance of a main road to Napier.—Messrs A. C. Steele, L. T. Burnard, and W. L. Butler were elected as the Association’s delegates. Correspondence was received from the New Zealand Automobile Union over various matters. The annual conference is being held! on July 27 at Wellington.—Mr L. T. Burnard lias been appointed delegate for the local Association, and intends bringing up several matters affecting motorists generally. The taxi drivers of Hannah’s corner have asked the‘A ssociation to approach the Borough Council to reconsider their- decision by allowing them to have their cars .facing Gladstone road as formerly done. —The Association consider the attitude taken up by the taxi drivers is correct and a letter is being forwarded to the Borough Council on the matter. A sub-committee. consisting of Messsrs J. C. Field, L. T. Burnard and! S. S. Dean was appointed to go fully into the matter in reference to rules for guidance in driving.—The Association are writing to the various Councils asking them if they would kindly erect danger signals at places to he nominated by their overseer, the Association supplying the signals.. . ~ Mr E.
