The Taruheru river is up to her old tricks again, and for some days past lias been breathing gentle smells oVer residents in the locality. The nuisance until yesterday \yas mily mildly suggestive of the .-o of a Couple of years ago, but last evening thesmell demon got going with a vengeance, probably aided by some combination of wind and tide, and closed windows were the rule in residences along the river banks. The trouble appears to be particularly noticeable along the Stout Street side, and no less than three indignant residents communicated their wrath and disgust through the telephone to the Times Office, with a request that attention should be drawn to the matter.
