LONDON’S SPLENDID FINALE

London made a splendid final effort to awaken laggards to a sense of duty in Fegard to the Victory War Loan. The newspapers had much space devoted! to the subject and vehicles bore exhortions, while banners were hung across the streets bearing conspicuous mottoes. A notable feature was the Lord Mayor’s procession in Trafalgar Square. The church bells were pealed. Queues of subscribers were formed at many banks, and the staffs were compelled to work late.

(Reuter’s Telegrams.) (Received Feb. 16, 7 p.m.) LONDON, February 16. There was a great war loan demonstration iu Trafalgar Square. Hie speakers included Air Massey, who paid a tribute to the mercantile marine in unshrinkingly facing the danger of mines and submarines.
