Corporal M. S. Edwards, of the -2nd . Reinforcements, has been promoted to sergeant. Advice has been received by La ay CarroU that- Sir James Carroll has arrived safely at Capetown. Mrs. Simeon, of Riverside Road, has been advised that her son. Private R. W. E. Simeon. Otago Battalion, is back at Brockenhurst. suffering from an old gunshot wound in the head. Private Simeon, during the Somme offensive in October last, had his foot crushed and he was wounded in the head. Mrs Simeon’s husband, .Private Herbert Simeon, was injured in the back by being buried in one ot the trendies on the Western front, and the latest news Mrs. Simeon had of him was t.lyvt he was ready to go * back to the firing line. t 41
