"WHAT HAPPENED TO JUNE Y" That merry farce, "What Happened to Jones," will be presented at the Opera House on Thursday and Friday next by George AVilloughb.v’s new musical" farce company. Tnis farce is, as most theatre-goers know, a laugh-producing monstrosity. It juggles with the absurd, and is a total stranger to reality. The frivolous stage claims it as one of its largest successes, whilst tho legitimate oi normal theatre-goers admit it being the best farce of modern times, quoting an extract from the Melbourne Age, which says:—"The first appearance of Geo. Willoughby’s new musical farce company at the Princess Theatre is by no means tlie least merry, for it is being devoted to a revival of Geo. Broadhurst’s most hilarious of farcical comedies, ‘What Happened to Jones,’ which was given to a crowded and delightful house on Saturday evening." Since its original presentation, “AVbat Happened to Jones” has undergone some alterations, inasmuch as that the .latest successful musical numbers and dances Have been intinduced in such a manner as to be a welcome and cheerful addition to an already successful play. Io achieve success in tho musical numbers ot the pieces, George Willoughby has surrounded himself with- some of the best known musical comedy artists, notable amongst them being the Misses June Ardell, Edna Seaton, Florence Fanning, Muriel Dale, Florence Leigh, Messrs. .Arthur Albert. Frank Brookes, David Jefferson, Fred. Holt, Harry. Halley, Walter Ironsides, and others. , "What Happened to Jones” will be pi lived two nights. For Saturday, tho last night of the season, another wellknown and immensely successful farcical comedy, “Why Smith Lett Home,” will be staged. In this, a s in the first-named production, the latest musical items and da pees will be introduced. Tlie box plans will open at Miller’s on Monday next.
