CRIES FOR HER DOLLS
A thirteen-year-old _bride of three months, who took her dolls with her when she went to live with her young husband, caused his arrest on charges of wife desertion at Des Moines, JndllCecil Gillian and John Noble were Wed, with the consent of the bride s' parents, on September 12, The girl was thirteen years old and the bridegroom twenty-three. After the marriage Noble took Ins young wife to live with his parents. There she was treated unkindly, she tearfully and, was finally ordered from the house by her mother-in-law. • ~ , , “I was afraid they would hurt me, and I was in a hurry to go home to my mother,” -she said. “So I just packed my clothes in a small black bag. There was no room for . my two dolls, so I had to leave them. I’m going hack after them, because I want.them., 1 was so disapoointed over leaving niv dolls that I Fried all the way home on the car.” •
