GERMAN COMMUNIQUE

Received Jan. 2S, 0.0 p.m. LONDON Man 2SA German official message says: The Westphalians l and Badeners stormed trenches on Height 304 on a mue front on the west bank of the Meuse inflicting sanguinary losses. French night counter-attacks failed. We have occupied further positions on both sides of the Aa and repulsed counter-attacks on the east bank. AVe took 500 prisoners.
LATER GERMAN REPORT. (Australian and' N.Z. Gable Assn). (Received Jan. 28, 11.15 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 28. A later German official report says: AVe broke further the attack against our positions on Hill 304 with sanguinary losses. Russian reinforcements were unable to re-capture the ground in the region eastward of the Aa- AA T e aie raiding between the Casinu end Putna valleys'.
