A representative deputation from the local authorities and medical bodies urged Lord Rhondda to legislate to prevent unqualified men treating venereal diseases and to suppress quack advertisements. Lord Rhondda said he realised the burning nature of the question. He regarded it as one of the most urgent. Legislation would probably be introduced early giving effect- to the recommendations pi the Royal commission. It was essential that publicity should be given to the grave danger of the scourge if secret treatment were provided.
