THE DRIVERS' DISPUTE.
CONFERENCE TO BE HELD

The Drivers’ Federation states that Mr. Herries, acting-Minister for Eabor. has agreed t-o call a compulsory conference of employers and men's representatives in the drivers’ dispute for Tuesday. The matter is to he dealt with 'on a Dominion basis, both, sides to suspend hostilities meanwhile, any agreement come to t-o operate from next Monday. Later. —The acting-Minister for Labor has agreed to ask the representatives of the employers and to meet- next week to discuss the dispute. He pointed out that the statement made to-day that the conference was compulsory was erroneous. The local union has handed over the dispute to the Drivers' Federation. and therefore does not the Wellington employers’ offer of & bonus.
