RIFLE SHOOTING.

THE MINIATUBE RANGE

I Quite a large crowd assembled on I the miniature rifle range in the GarI rison Hall last evening to witness the shooting competition between the ambulance section and No. 2 Platoon of I the National Beservc. I Sir James Carroll was present and opened the match in the good old style of standing up to it, feet apart, | head down and eyes along the sights of the rjfle. The first shot was a sighter to get the range, and the bullet was embedded just one inch from the bull, and known in shooting parlance as 3 o’clock. The next shot was a bull. Sir James was heartily cheered, and has promised to look us up again and probably captain a team of "has been’s” against a team of "will he’s.” The lighting of the range was a great improvement over last week, and with more practice some good shots will be found in the ranks of the National Beservc.

The Ambulance Section last week defeated No. 3 Platoon', and again were victorious against No. 1 Platoon, winning by 172 to 129 points. Following are the results:

Next Monday the Ambulance: meet No. 1 Platoon, amongst whom are several members with "bull’s eye” reputations.
