The,owners of the Clan MacTavish, which was sunk after a oattle with the Mo ewe, learn officially that all the European crew are safe and prisoners. Several Lascars were killed and four wounded. , It is officially announced m Washington that America regards the Appam as a prize. The Appam, after landing her passengers, voyaged to Newport News. The. Germans detained Captain Harrison, of tho original crew, ana <ws° the gun-layers; declaring that by their resistance they had forfeited the right to liberty. , . The American State Department has ordered the release of everybody aboard the Appam excepting the prize crew.
