CONSTABLE’S GALLANT DEATH

(Press Association Telegram A GREYMOUTH, Jan. 18Tlire was a double fatality at South Beach this afternoon, where a number of people were surf bathing. Constable Dillon, with'Nurse Regan was a considerable distance out. Nurse Regan got into difficulties and Constable Dillon attempted to rescue her, but both were drowned. Constable Dillon’s body has not been recovered The Nurse’s body was brought m but artificial restoration was unsuccessful. Constable Dillon was a single man, 32 vears of age and had no relatives in Now Zealnd. Nurse Regan was formerly in Christchurch.
