PUKEPAPA TOWNSHIP SECTIONS

There was a good attendance at the land sale conducted by Messrs 'villains and Kettle. Ltd., in conjunction with Mr T. G. Lawless, at Millers Mart on Saturday morning. Sixteen sections at Pukepapa township, Kaitaratahi, were submitted to auction, on behalf of Messrs 1. G. Lawless and F. ,T. Single. Mr G. R. Wyllie, the auctioneer, in opening the sale, pointed out the pios■pective value of the property m view of the erection of the new freezing works. The sections submitted were situated iust above the Kaitaratahi bridge on the Gisborne-Te Karaka road. , ~ Lot 1, 28 perches, a corner section was first offered Bidding started £BO. and the price quickly ran to £1(35, at which figure it was secured bv the Mr J. B. Poynter. ' Section 2, 32.21 perches, was knocked down to Mr E. Richards, at £l7O. The same buver also secured section 3, 22.3 perches, for £lO6. Mr PoynteV bought, section 16. 32 perches, for £lO3. The other sections were passed in, tue prices offered iainiig to reach the reserves. After the sale, sections 9 and 1U (with cottage) were disposed of the reserves fixed. . A section of seven acres at 1 una, lieing a sub-section of PuhaL,.UHnvO block, was also submitted on behalf of Mr F. W. Williams, executors in the estate of A. W. Gardiner, deceased.
