KILLED WHILE SKI-ING.
GERMAN - SCHOOLBOY IMPALED UPON POINT OK HIS STICK. An incident unique in the annals of ski-ing took place at Lauterbrunnen during a winter sports meeting. A German schoolboy, Fitz von Allmen, while jumping on skis, threw his stick in front, of him down the slope, and it stuck upright in tthe snow. The boy landed on the stick, which tv:*hsfixed him, and he died a few minutes lateri At Oaux a 'bobsleigh containing two young women and two men, French visitors, while travelling at great speed, dashed over a 12ft bank, and fell 35ft into a ravine. One girl and ono man were seriously injured, and were taken to their hotel at Territet; the others escaped with minor injuries.
