r PRESS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAM.J AUCKLAND. March 11. A young woman named Connie Bane was admitted to the Hospital on Monday evening and died a few hours later. A post mortem examination diseased that fact that suspicious circumstances were connected with the death. The inquest was opened and adjourned. Deceased was single and a native of Invercargill. CHRISTCHURCH. March 11. About 10.15 this morning a man i\as round at the foot of an embankment in Simeon Quay. Lyttelton, close to the buildings of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Coy. The man. who was identified _as Colin Campbell, a fireman, was picked up in a semi-conscious condition and removed to the casualty ward, where he was attended to. He was found to be suffering from a compound fracture of the right arm and was in a very weak state from exposure. having apparently lain out al* night. The embankment over which the unfortunate man fell was about 40 feet high. He is believed to be a single man, and, so far as is known, lias no relatives in the Dominion. Campbell died from liis injuries at about 10 minutes to 12.
