MR. D. J. BARRY’S NEW PREMISES.

Barry at Finlay’s Rooms last night to celebrate the completion of his new premises in Childers Road Those present included the architect, contractor, sub-contractors, and workmen who had been engaged upon die building. After full justice had been done to an excellent menu prepared by Mr Finlay, a short toast list, interspersed with songs and recitations, was submitted.

W. Barber (electrician), ■and Geo. Smith (joinery). Representatives of these firms suitably responded, laying stress upon the harmony which prevailed during the erection of the building. Mr D. J. Barry specially referred to the firm of Andersens, Ltd., who hac installed the electric goods lift in the building, the first thing of its kind m this district. During the evening songs were sung by Messrs H. E. Hill. F. J. Teat, A. Zacliariah, J. Campbell and Dow, and recitations given by Mr W. Gibson. Mr L. T. Shone presided at the piano with his usual ability. A very pleasant gathering concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang iSyne.” and “God Save the King.”
