BOAT’S CREW IN PERIL.
FOUNDERING OF A STEAMER. (United Press Association —Copyright). (Received March 8, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 8. New Jersey reports that the steamer Charlemagne Tower sank in the Atlantic, and that the captain and crew of seventeen are adrift in an open and overcrowded boat in a heavy sea. They were prevented from landing by the sea and drifted off again and were lost sight of in a snowstorm. Revenue cutters are searching for them.
