FIRE AT WAIROA.
BRITXELL’S BUILDINGS DESTROYED. [PRESS ASSOCIATION TELIGRAAC TYAIROA, Feb. 23. A fire at 7.30 on Sunday morning destroyed Britnell's block ot buildings on the Alarine Parade, near wharf. Those burnt out were: Hadley, bootmaker; Wong Ham. fruiterer and Chinese laumirvnuvn. A\ ilLing workers saved the residence of Mr It. M. Mowatt, harbor engineer. Air Hadley attributes the fire to a match thrown down bv him just before going to breakfast. He had not gone ten minutes when the flames broke out. The insurances are: Wong Ham. £250 oil stock in the Phoenix office: G. Britnell, premises, £3OO in the Phoenix office. Tlie former estimates nis extra loss at £IOO, and the latter at £450. Hadley only saver! a boot machine. He lost his personal effects, and £lO in notes.
