The refinery is replete with the very latest appliances for its work, and is thoroughly up-to-date in all respects. It cost £36,000 to build, and. is regarded as evidence of the utmost faith on the part of experts, in the future of oil in Taranaki. Congratulatory speeches were delivered by Mr C. Carter, Chairman of the Company, Mr J. D. Miller, advisory expert, Mr H. J. Okey Member for the town, Mr G. Browne, Mayor, and others.
