Reuter states that Greece denies the report that she desires to prolong hostilities, and says that if Bulgaria wants peace she need only approach the Allies simultaneously, but both are agreed not to accord an armistice separately. The Austrian Ministers at Belgrade and Athens have demanded the.,;cessation of the war. ■Austria will not permit further humiliation of Bulgaria, and if Greece and Servia are obdurate Roumania, acting as the mandatory of Austria and Russia, will prevent an attack on Sofia. Servian peasants buried 857 Bulgarians killed at Pirot. It is semi-officialy stated in Athens that Austro-Bussian pressure ought to be exerted in Sofia to compel Bulgaria to accept the Allies’ conditions otherwise Bulgaria has nothing to hope for. It is reported that M. Venizelos (Grecian Premier) has replied in the negative to Austro-Russian requests. In response to M. Ghenadieff’s appeal, Roumania has stopped her advance fifteen kilometres from Sofia. Reports from Rome are to the effect that it is stated that the Powers are prepared to authorise Russia to occupy Armenia and aornpel Turkey to withdraw behind the Enos line and prevent Turkey from drawing reinforcements from Asia.
THE ARMISTICE CONFERENCE.
DELEGATES LEAVE FOR BUCHAREST.
(Received July 28, 12.25 a.m.) ATHENS, July 27. The delegates from the d fferent States have started for Bucharest to discuss the holding of an armistice conference at Nisch simultaneously with the peace preliminaries at Bucharest.
The Allies have refused Bulgaria three days’ truce.
