The big auction sale of bankrupt stock and travellers’ samples now beino- conducted in premises opposite Ormond’s in Peel Street, attracted an enormous attendance yesterday, ana bargain hunters had tlieir desires fully gratified. Mr J. B. Clark, the auctioneer, confirmed ■ the reputation which preceded him. To say that he gave things away would be but a mild way of expressing facts. Almost every .conceivable article essential to a home came under the hammer and the quickest bidder secured the bargain. The stock comes from a big bankrupt estate, and must be sq and judging by the manner in winch the sale was conducted yesterday, the whole lot will be sold in record time. The sale will commence again at 10.30 a.m. to-day, and. will be continued until every line is sold. There is absolutely no reserve.*
