A gathering of about 600 natives from Waitotara, Wavbrley, Patoa, and Wanganui, and as far as Taurcaruniii took place at Kanangaroa, near Fordell, and after threo days’ deliberations has decided that it is not in the interests of the Maori race that there should be only one law for both Pakeha and Maori. I hey maintained that the Treaty of Waitangi should not be departed from, and an important meeting is to be' held at Paramar.ui next week, tho idea being to hear the matter settled before Parliament meets so that delegates can be sent down.
