On Saturday next, at their Horse Bazaar, Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd., will offer at auction on behalf of Mr John Clark, a number ofi thoroughbred fillies by Sabretache and the brood mare Playfiro (Crackshot— Playmate.) Some useful hacks and harness horses will go to fill up the bill.

[PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM,] CHRISTCHURCH. May 28. At Addington to-day there were large entries of sheep of all classes and fair yardings in other departments. Store Sheep.—The yarding of store sheep was smaller than for the previous week. Quotations are” Ewes 2 and 4-tooth (small) 13s lid, 2, 4. and 6-tooth 11s Gd, G and 8-tooth 11s lOd to 15s, extra to lGs lOd, sound mouth extra 11s Gd, full but sound mouth 13s Od to 14s Gd, sound and failing mouth 11s to 12s 9d, aged sorts 8s lid, wethers 4-tooth (extra forward) 14s 7d, 4 and 6-tooth (extra forward) 17s 8d to 18s sd, 4 ana 6-tootli (good) 16s Gd to 17s, 2-tooth 13s Bd, small to 15s 3d, good 2,4, and 6-tooth halfbred small 14s, merinos 7s Gd to 8s Gd, lambs good rape sorts 13s to los, fair rape lambs 12s to 12s Gd, good stores 11s to 11s 9d, medium stores S.s 9d to 10s (xT, small sorts 9s and wethers 9s 9d. Fat Lambs. — There was again a large entry of lambs, the quality of which was not so good as of those that have been coming forward this season. Export buyers lowered their limits, as they consider that of late they have been paying too much for lambs, and the falling off in quantity which was to be expected at this late season of the year, docs not warrant the late high prices being paid. There was consequently a drop of Is to Is Gd per head, as compared with last week, and some lots showed even a further falling off in values. The rate per lb. was about 53d to sfd. Tegs made 19s to 22s 9d, average weights los to 18s Gd, and light and unfinished 12s Gd to 14s 9d. Fat Sheep.—There was a large entry of fat sheep, totalling over 6000. The range of prices was: Extra prime wethers to 38s, prime 20s to 265, others 17s to 19s Gd, extra prime ewes to 17s, prime 18s to 24s Gd, medium 15s to 17s Gd, aged and light'lls 6d to 14s Gd, merino wethers 16s lid to 17s Bd. Fat Cattle. — The yarding of fat cattle totalled 303 head. _ The demand was irregular, varying greatly at different periods, but the average price of beef showed! no chance from the previous sale, making 21s to 29s per lOOlbs according to quality. Steers realised £7 7s Gd to £ll, extra to £l4 ss, heifers £G to £lO, and cows £5 15s G to £lO. Store 'Cattle.=—'The entry of store cattio was a small one. Yearlings made 365, fifteen to 18-months sorts £2 2s Gd to £3, two-year heifers £3 10s to £3 17s Gd, three-year steers £0 10s to £7, two-year heifers £5, and cows £1 17s Gd to £4 17s. Dairy cows made £3 10s to £ll 10s. Fat Pigs.—There was a'medium entry of fat pigs, and the demand showed an improvement. Choppers realised £3 10s to £5 10s. heavy baconeo-s 65s to 78s, and lighter 50s to 58s (equal to 53-d aor lb). Heavy porkers made 45s to 50s, and lighter 38s to 42s (equal to 6d per lb). Store Pigs.-—Store pigs were represented by a. mixed entry. Best sorts realised 1 35s to 445, medium 22s to '34s, and small pigs 19s to 21s. . "Weaners brought 6s Gd for small pigs, to 13s for good sorts.
