In connection with the formation of a sub-union at Wainiata, the secretary ; was instructed to write forwarding the j necessary procedure to adopt. SECRETARY. The matter of the appointment of a ‘ secretary, consequent on Mr. Cowan s ; resignation, was held over till next ! meeting. | TRAINING SHED. A very hearty vote of thanks was i passed to Afir. J. C. E. Turner for plans and specifications, gratuitously forwarded by him, in connection with . the proposed training shed. | ' CARETAKER. ! Six applications were received for ' tho position of caretaker of Victoria Domain, and after these had been gone through, Mr, J. Patterson was elected to fill the position. A NEW CLUB. The Matawhero Club were granted ' affiliation to the Union (colors, black j and white), and entered a team for ■I the junior competition. | THE LOAN FROM THE N.Z. UNION. Mr. D. Cowan, secretary, tendered his report as special delegate to the N.Z. Rugby meeting at Wellington, in connection with the obtaining, of a loan of £3OO for the proposed training shed, which was granted on very favorable terms. Mr. Cowan was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his able services. ENCOURAGEMENT OF SCHOOL FOOTBALL. It was decided to apply to the N.Z Rugby Union for the usual grant in this connection. GATEKEEPER. The matter of the appointment of a gatekeeper was held over till next week. THURSDAY COMPETITION. It was decided to start this competition on Thursday week. The Union j was informed that a third team is bej ing formed to take part in the com--1 petition. THE PLAYERS. The lists of players wore passed as submitted, conditional on their being bona-fide amateur Rugby pavers, and conforming to the by-laws ol the Poverty Bay Rugby Union. Messrs. Stitehbury and Campbell wore reinstated to junior rank. i AIOTU SUB-UNION. ! Correspondence was dealt with from i this district, and the secretary was . i instructed to supply all information ; dealing with the formation of a sub- ; union. COM PETITIONS.
