DISTURBANCES IN HYDE PARK. I.OWITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, May n. Suifragottes broke into an unoccupied house at Newcastle but were discovered, and decamped, leaving a pail of inflammable material, two tins of petrol, and firelights. A large empty hon.se at- Beckenham was totally burned. The damage inflicted by suffragettes •during the week is estimated at £50,000.
Suffragists’ disturbances occurred at Hyde Park. Ono of the speakers, Mrs Lorry, was knocked over, and other women roughly handledr~ Tho police rescued them.
(Received May 12, 11.40 p.m.) The Moil’s League for Women’s Suffrage attempted a meeting in Hyde Park,' but some of the crowd used mirrors to deflect the sun into the speakers’ faces, compelling them to stop. A bomb containing 24 gunpowder cartridges and a fuse with oil-soaked wadding was found during tho performance at the Empire Theatre, Dubhn. A woman was arrested.
Three women have been arrested for breaking tho fanlights at the headquarters of the United Irish League.
