The Gisborne Shakespeare Society, will give a public reading of “The Merchant of Venice” at Wliinray’s Hall on Thursday, June 5, the whole production to be under the proven supervision of Mr E. H. Rowley; Launcelot Gobbo (the clown, servant to Shylock), H. Robb; Portia (a rich heiress), Miss Hilda Hogg; Verissa (her waiting maid), Miss Sievriglit; Jessica (daughter to Shylock), Miss Florance.
